In 2017, through a grant from Cyclists for Cultural Exchange, WCCN traveled to Guatemala to learn about the culture of cycling in San Andres Itzapa, Guatemala and how it compared to that of our headquarters in Madison, WI. We visited with microcredit WCCN affiliate FIDESMA, an organization offering bicycles to the working poor at little to no cost and interviewed the people they helped to support. We heard stories, followed a night ride, and visited a factory creating some of the most innovative uses for bicycles today.
